Cielo Chiaro
Cielo Chiaro is set in two acres of olive groves in the hills above the Niccone Valley on the Umbrian/Tuscan border.
The house is in a cluster of three with half a wall shared with an Italian neighbour.
The area is rural and tranquil and the people are open, warm and welcoming to strangers. Popularly known as Tuscany's gentler sister, Umbria is a magical mix of charming and historical hill towns, breathtaking scenery and a unique concentration of artistic and architectural riches unrivalled in the rest of Italy.
The food is a combination of the sophistication of the North and the more rustic simplicity of the South. Orvicto Secco is the most famous export, subtle in character and unassuming in nature; a wine of renown for centuries.
Bookings are accepted for any time of year. Places like Siena and Assisi are always busy but many, charming villages remain gloriously empty out of season.
