Marianne & Andrew Newell have lived in Italy on the border between Tuscany and Umbria since 1990. They went to live there by chance and restored their "ruin" gradually, using local builders and traditional materials. When complete, it became obvious that there was more space than needed. Marianne & Andrew decided to let the ground floor as a self-contained apartment. Soon several friends, family and local Italians asked them to manage their properties too and Amici Villas was born.
Marianne and Andrew - often above-and-beyond the call of duty - monitor the houses, meet guests, are on-site to offer further advice, help and answer any questions the guests may have. Thus making your stay in Italy a pleasant, worry-free and enjoyable experience.
Their daughter Michèle and son-in-law Paul share Marianne and Andrew’s enthusiasm and love for Italy and the Italian people. They visit the area every year from England and manage the website, take bookings and offer advice and assistance based on their knowledge.
It is with pride that Amici Villas maintain a small property base with the added personal knowledge and experience of the houses, their owners, and the area that this brings.

...........and it was a beautiful house in a beautiful place. It was absolutely spotlessly clean when we arrived (and we tried to leave it ditto!), the Pool Man and associates were all delightful and our non- existent Italian (well, as a professional musician I am quite good at highlights from grand opera, but that's all) got us by very well.

I meant to send this email right after we returned from Italy and Casa Nova, but I am just now finding the time. Anyway, I wanted to say thanks for your suggestions and directions for our Italy vacation. We had a great time, and absolutely loved Casa Nova and the surrounding area - especially the friendly people and cool drinks and gelato at Bad Boys (bar), the pizza at Nestor's, the Deruta ceramics, all of Assisi, and the pool. Also, please pass my regrets on to Marianne and Andrew, who came by the villa one day when we were out and left a note and their phone number. Next time (which hopefully won't be too long from now).

I write to thank you on behalf of all my family, for a wonderful week in August. We thoroughly enjoyed your delightful house. The splendid swimming pool, which was essential during our visit this summer, gave everybody an immense amount of pleasure and entertainment. Cara and her family were very friendly and helpful as were the owners of the Bar. We very much appreciated the beautiful unspoilt countryside and managed to explore the area extensively during our week despite the extraordinary heat.

We are really taken with Italy and will no doubt be returning next year. In fact we have even been looking at property to buy in Umbria and Tuscany.

I am just writing to say a big thank you for your help in organising our wonderful holiday. The villa was beautiful, the countryside stunning and the people extremely helpful and friendly. All 6 of us had a fantastic time.
Please pass on our thanks to Marianne and her husband too, they did pop round but I myself, didn't get a chance to say hello. I spoke to her on the phone a couple of times and she was very helpful. Thanks once again and I can assure you that we will be recommending your company, the villa and that beautiful part of Italy to anyone who will listen and will certainly keep you in mind for future holidays ourselves!
........Just a quick note to say thanks and how much we enjoyed our 2 weeks in Italy. The house was lovely and the pool superb. The weather was brilliant and Doris and Marianne looked after us when we needed them. I will certainly recommend it to any friends who want to go to the same area.
